In nexus with this, capturing while understanding each text gave different insights of examining any texts from high school to the college level. According to Elizabeth, critical reading has been a method of analyzing language involving examining a text more deeply than just taking it at face value. Thus, through metacognitive reading strategies, I was able to evaluate the expectations regarding reading, critical reading, and the steps that could be applied in critical reading. In various instances, when I found issues in illustrating things, I focused on fix-up strategies that guided me to read the page again, circling all things that were uncommon for me and enhancing the reading process. Generally, I do not prefer applying such schema and focusing on underlining or searching the meaning of each word in the dictionary; however, for the first time, I prefer to use such metacognitive schema in critical reading. This even aided me in a definite evaluation of how reading should be promoted with responsibility as required for further creative writing courses or common writing assignments.
