Question.3322 - One of my favorite past times is watching movies with my family. Even though not every "based on a true story" movie is 100% accurate, many of them are excellent and true story movies are growing in popularity. The objective of this assignment is simple, take some time this week to watch a true story movie. Your options are pretty much unlimited but I would ask you to pick a story from United States history (as that is our course).I can imagine being the "professional historian" for a major movie company and doing research for the director. What a cool job that would be! There are so many ways to study history and one of my purposes for the course is to open your minds to those opportunities. History doesn't need to be boring memorization of people, facts, dates, and so forth. Have fun with the assignment! Perhaps even do a movie night with your family and friends.Once you have finished watching a movie, the assignment will be to create a top 5 list of your favorite "based on a true story" movies. You will need to produce a minimum one page report justifying your rankings. Why certain movies made the cut or why certain movies did not. What criteria did you use in determining your list? Remember that justifying goes beyond "it was really good". Do some critical thinking as to how you determined your top 5 list.
